Halff provided structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing design for the U.S. Border Patrol Headquarters in Edinburg, Texas. This project for the Homeland Security Department included a design-build delivery method while being overseen by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. There were two different types of foundations used for the project. The two one-story building’s foundations are ribbed mat slabs, while the two-story building’s foundation consists of straight shaft piers. Building structures contain steel-braced frames clad in pre-cast concrete panels.
